Welcome Summer

 The grass beckons to be cut, the birds awaken us at dawn and the warm weather calls to my kids.  They took their first dip in the pond over the weekend.  Friends always make it more fun.
Do you eat later in the summer than in the winter?  I love summer meals, gathered around the table as dusk settles. Freshly showered kids in pajamas, grill marks on the food, and fresh fruit at 8pm.  Yes, it must be summer!



This is the easiest  crowd-pleasing summer dessert:
1 tub cool whip
1 angel food cake
1 tub strawberry glaze
fresh, sliced strawberries
Mix the glaze and fresh berries.  Layer in a glass bowl.  Wait for the oohs and aahs.

Celebrating Memorial Day with a few friends and a bunch of food.
Shrimp boil! 
We call it Frogmore Stew.  Why?  Why is it called that??

I have such talented friends!  So patriotic!

Even though I dread the heat, I am looking forward to all that summer has to offer.
I think we're off to a great start!
